My very first genealogical research experience

I started doing genealogy as an early teenager in the early 70s at a Family History Library in Lethbridge, AB.

My mother volunteered each Saturday at the FHL. She would put me in front of a microfilm reader, (similar to the one on the right), load a film, and give me a list of names to find. I scrolled slowly through the film writing down any information I found on the film.

At the end of the day I would scroll it back to the beginning. But you couldn't watch or it would make you sick to your stomach!
