Genealogical dates

You know when you look at a date which is all numbers you are not sure which is first - the month of the number of the month??

Genealogical dates are to be laid out the following way. It works great because there is no question as to what is what!!

dd mmm yyyy

dd		The day of the month. a zero (0) is not necessary if the number is less than 10.
mmm		The first three letters of the month
yyyy		The full year

Wouldn't it be a lot easier if everyone in all professions used this layout? 

Software

If you enter a date into a genealogical program it will automatically change it to this layout.

Note

Don't type in the full month in a genealogical program! It will shorten it the three letters and all your hard work will be wasted!
